O.k., I've been holding off on an update, because I was hoping Erin would get better and not worse. She was diagnosed with Strep throat and an upper respiratory infection on Monday, and she has been fighting fevers of 104-105 all week. Her coughing began to get worse, but we were stil hoping for the best. Unfortunately, after a visit to the E.R. yesterday, we found out Erin has pneumonia... again. If you knew all of the circumstances, which I will share later, you would think it was almost amusing. Well, not in the "laugh until you cry" type of amusing, but the "How in the heck does this happen?" type of amusing. The good thing about it is that she has not been admitted to the hospital yet. The doctor gave me the option, and because we have every piece of equipment we need except oxygen, I decided to see if she could recover at home. I did promise that if she got any worse I would bring her back immediately for admission. We caught the pneumonia early, so keep your fingers crossed. Actually, when I took her in, everyone who listened to her said she sounded pretty good... until they saw the chest x-ray. I swear that Erin can function better with a temperature of 105 and junky lungs than most kids could do with a 102 fever. She's just amazing in the way that she handles this. I could see the panic on the girls' faces when the doctor said the "P" word and the relief when I said we would try making it work at home. Wish us luck! ![]()
Taylor is finally doing much better, but Jade is fighting her own upper respiratory infection that seems to have triggered some asthma. When I let her listen to her lungs when she is wheezing, she can't quite believe that they sound so bad. I can't really believe it either. Poor thing!
So, as you can see, our life is never boring. You can always count on our girls to keep us on our toes!
